- History and Construction of the Stations and Lines

All my life I have had a fascination for railways around the National Capital Region, and have witnessed them transform from their heyday in the 50s and 60s to their near disappearance in the 90s and early 2000s. Currently, railways in the capital are undergoing a sort of transitional period, and it is all very exciting for me to witness railways once again become a talking point for just regular folks, and also something for politicians to campaign on. I have lived all my life in Ottawa in the (once suburban) Alta Vista. I am currently retired from many years as a consultant, and worked very briefly for OC Transpo doing just that. I have had a passion for trains and transit all my life, and I hope that working on this website will help preserve the history while also being informative to others.

I also have a Flickr account where I post my historical railway photos, some of which you may see scattered around this website in the future: Visit my Flickr account here. I have posted roughly 115 so far, with thousands more to scan and post, so check every couple weeks or so and you'll get a healthy dose of historical railway photos from Ottawa and around Canada. I even have some from the molten ore trains at the old INCO mine in Sudbury.
