The city of Ottawa issued the following news release to notify of a training excercise happening this evening at Lyon Station for emergency responders. No doubt the first of many excercises over many years to come. The text follows below.

This evening, the City of Ottawa will undertake a training exercise involving first responders at Lyon Station, at the corner of Lyon Street and Queen Street.

The exercise will involve multiple City partners, including the Ottawa Police Service, the Ottawa Paramedic Service and Ottawa Fire Services. The training exercise is being conducted in preparation for the O-Train Confederation Line opening.

Residents can expect to see an increased number of first responders and first responder vehicles staged in this area of the downtown core during the evening commute.

Queen Street will be closed between Kent Street and Lyon Street from 4 pm to 10:30 pm. Detours will be signed.
