In November 2019, archaeologists found bones at a REM work site, confirming the existence of a cemetery in Pointe-Saint-Charles, dating from 1847.

Elizabeth Boivin, Director Environment at the REM project office, is faced with a challenge: she must ensure the completion of archaeological work in an area with a heavy past and full of history, the former Irish cemetery in Montreal. To achieve this, a novel archaeological technique was developed, leaving a minimal footprint in the cemetery.

On the occasion of Archeology Month, watch the new episode (filmed in the fall of 2019) of the documentary series “Destination REM”.
