Ralph Raccoon 0
After finding all details on which high-floor buses were retired after 2008, I am wondering if anyone would have details on the OC Transpo fleet from 1993, 1995 and 1998, as shown in copies of the Street Side Guide to Canadian Transit Fleets from those years, if posting it is permitted. Also, if anyone has any information on Orion I buses that were retired before 1993, as well as GM buses that were retired from 1976 to 2007, that will be useful. Another thing I am looking for is which Orion-Ikarus articulated buses were retired in 1997 and 2001, along with which Orion V buses from 1991 and 1992 were retired in 2005 or 2006. If I am correct, buses 400-420, built in 1955, were all retired in 1973 or 1974, knowing they never received any four-digit fleet number. Link to post
OC Transpo/STO Fan 21
I found a city of Ottawa document with a transit bus inventory list as of Dec. 31, 2005 if anyone's interested. For Orion Vs, 26 out of 28 1992s remained active (9238 was one of the first retirements as I had suspected, not sure of the other one). There were 18 out of 25 1991 Vs active (four retired being 9134, 9137, 9138, 9144, not sure about the other three) It looks like they rapidly retired the 1991s because according to a post from April 2006 by user JCL on the CPTDB forum, 9126, 9128, 9143 were the only ones active. A few slight inaccuracies are present in the list. For example, the 1987 Classics had a bit more than only 14 active at the time. The 1981 New Looks definitely had 21 (not 20) active until April 1, 2006 (according to user ikarus3737 on the old CPTDB forum back in 2006). Also note that 8918's retirement (in Oct 2005) isn't taken into account (it should say 59 active instead of 60 active for the 1989 MCIs). Link to post
Ralph Raccoon 0
With replacement of any buses that entered service before 1989, all GM buses from 1979 were quickly retired (20 in 2004 and 9 in 2005); leaving 7926 as the only remaining from from that year in 2006 and 2007. As far as I know, 7802 and 7831 were retired in 2002 or some time earlier, while 7819 and 7838 were last used in 2003. Edited May 30, 2020 by Ralph Raccoon Link to post
