  1. With 7601, 7609-7611, 7613, 7616-7617, 7619 and 7631 listed as retired before any buses from 1993 were delivered, I figure all nine of those were retired in 1992. If I am correct, 7501-7503, 7505, 7508, 7513-7514, 7517, 7519, 7523, 7530, 7533, 7543, 7545, 7551, 7560, 7563-7564, 5704, 5706, 5711, 5718, 5721, 5727-5728, 5730, 5732, 5734, 5738-5739, 5741-5742, 5744-5745, 5750-5751 and 5761-5766 were retired in 1991, with 5706 being brought back to service less than eight years later.
  2. 7521, 5746, 5757 and 7608 were retired in 2000. If I am correct, 7552, 7562, 7802 and 7831 were also retired that year.
  3. 8501, 8503, 8511, 8517, 8528-8529, 8603-8605, 8607-8609, 8611, 8613-8616, 8621-8623, 8631, 8633, 8638, 8640, 8642, 8646, 8652-8654, 8719, 8721-8723, 8729-8730, 8732, 8735, 8737, 8739-8740, 8743, 8750, 8752, 8755, 8757-8761, 8763, 8846-8847, 8851, 8855-8856, 8862, 8864 and 8866-8869 were retired in 2002. As far as I know, 8530-8533 and 8870 were retired in 1998, when OC Transpo started using 25 Orion-Ikarus articulated buses previously used by Toronto Transit Commission.
  4. With 8406 and 8418 retired in 2004, I figure all others from 1984 were retired the same year, except for 8408, 8413 and 8417. Also retired in 2004 were 8771 and 8789. If anyone knows which others from 1987 were retired before 2008, that will be useful.
  5. With times of retirement for all high-floor buses, I have been able to find those details for any that entered service from 1989 to 1998, except for some Orion V buses that entered service in 1991 and 1992. A full list of those that entered service before 1989, that I am still looking for the years of retirement for, is shown below: 121-126 from 1939 128 from 1940 171-172 from 1941 55-60 from 1942 165 from 1944 50-51, 61-62, 201-206, 208-216, 218-222 and 300 from 1946 63-63 from 1947 327 from 1948 233-241 from 1949 242-247 and 320-321 from
  6. Of all Canadian Car and Foundry buses used by the Ottawa Transportation Commission, I was able to find out the following: 300 (IC-41 from 1946) and 2001-2010 (T-48As from 1951) were retired in 1959. 223-226 and 228-232 (C-36s from 1948) were retired in 1965. 227 (Ex-Brantford Transit C-36A from 1950, previously numbered 501); bought in 1953, was retired in 1961. 5701-5715 (CD-52s from 1957) were retired in 1970. The remaining buses from the same company listed below, with no known year of retirement: 242-247 (C-36s from 1950) 248-267 (C-44As from 1952) 2
  7. 8627 lasted until late January 2003. At this point, I have been able to find out that at least 87 others from 1985 to 1989 lasted until 2002: 8501, 8503, 8511, 8517, 8528-8529, 8603-8605, 8607-8609, 8611, 8613-8616, 8621-8623, 8628, 8631, 8633, 8638, 8640, 8642, 8646, 8652-8654, 8719, 8721-8723, 8729-8730, 8732, 8735, 8737, 8739-8740, 8743, 8750, 8752, 8755, 8757-8761, 8763, 8846, 8851, 8855-8856, 8858, 8862, 8864, 8866-8869 and 8875-8899. I am looking to see if anyone would know the years of retirement for any of the buses listed below: 8502, 8504-8510, 8512-8516, 8518-852
  8. In 1991, those buses already started showing signs of being worn out, with 8745 or 8746 being the first to go (not sure which one was retired first); followed by either of those being retired in 1992, before some of those from any year ended up needing to be retired in 1997.
  9. 8241-8266, 8371-8372, 8374-8383 and 8385-8392 were retired in 1992. Those that entered service from 1978 to 1980 (8801-8806, 8807-8824 and 8825-8832) would have been retired after ten years, if not less, which means the last of them were gone no later than 1990. If anyone knows what year any of those would have been replaced, it will help with finding out how they compared against the Orion-Ikarus articulated buses.
  10. Recently, I was able to find out that of all buses from 1955, 18 were sold to Verreault Transport in 1975. With the remaining three, I am wondering if buses 402, 417 and 419 were also retired in 1975 or either of the two preceding years.
  11. When buses 9721-9740 entered service in 1998, they were used on routes 16 and 18 throughout the week. At the same time, Sunday trips on routes 151 and 174 were wheelchair accessible, before it was expanded to all days of the week on both routes in April or June 2000. With the need to replace Orion-Ikarus articulated buses beginning soon after, the transition to wheelchair accessible service on routes 85 and 95 begain in 2001. Over the following ten years, all weekend and some weekday trips on route 118 became wheelchair accessible in January 2005.
  12. With only a small number of those buses purchased most years before 1972, I figure 6101-6112 were retired in 1980, with 6221-6230 also retired in 1981. If that is the case, those that entered service from 1963 to 1969 would have been fully replaced before 1990. As far as I know, 6338 was retired in 1989 and 6566 was retired in 1982. If anyone knows when those that entered service from 1970 to 1977 started getting replaced by newer buses, that will be helpful in knowing how long they lasted. Also, I am wondering which one that entered service before 1978 was destroyed in a 1989 crash with
  13. After looking through details on when GM Fishbowls that entered service after 1975 were retired, I found out that 8004 might have still been used in the first half of 2007, as was the case with 8008 and 8009. As for 7843, it would have been retired in 2004, unless it was retired any year before it got hauled to a scrapyard. With any other remaining fishbowls from those years, I am wondering if anyone would know when any of the following buses were retired: 7601-7628, 7630-7647, 7653, 7702-7721, 7731-7736, 7739-7741, 7743-7752, 7754-7756, 7758-7765, 7802-7808, 7811-7815, 7817, 7819, 7
  14. 8408, 8413 and 8417 were retired in 2005. With all buses from 1984 (8401-8425) replaced at the same time as the last remaining buses from 1976 and 1977, I am looking to see which ones were retired in 2004. 8542, 8544, 8554 and 8555 were retired in 2005 and 2006 (not sure which year for any of those four). 8765-8768, 8770-8772, 8774, 8776-8777, 8780, 8782, 8784, 8789, 8794-8795 and 8797 were retired 2004-2007 (not sure which year for any one of them).
  15. With replacement of any buses that entered service before 1989, all GM buses from 1979 were quickly retired (20 in 2004 and 9 in 2005); leaving 7926 as the only remaining from from that year in 2006 and 2007. As far as I know, 7802 and 7831 were retired in 2002 or some time earlier, while 7819 and 7838 were last used in 2003.
