I actually find that interesting Ian. The most rail cars I ever seen was close to 100, but 200 rail cars on 10,000 feet of track, that takes up a lot of track.

I think it is because that railline is closed and they use it for storage. I have never seen that line without hundreds and hundreds of cars lined up.

Hi Chris...I never thought of that, but now that you mention it, I did see a train running on another set of tracks..It sure is a lot of iron to have parked...

You've got that right about all that iron and steel being parked on that length of track.

yes it is a lot, but it is also a good location to do it. There is a popular line that goes east and west from young, close to where this branch breaks off and heads notth, and again at highway 16 where the branch ends.
the rest of the line that goes south I think has been gone for a couple of decades.

The line south was former CP and transfered to CN (who then abandoned most of what CP hadn't already abandoned). This line was the former GTP line that ran from the GTP mainline to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The rest of this line that is currently active is part of Wheatland Railway.
