The one and only hybrid locomotive Emerald Green Goat. Built in 2001 at the Southern railway of British Columbia (SRY) shops for Railpower Technologies. This locomotive and brother the Green Kid toured North America and eventually led to sales; however due to reliablity issues Canadian Pacific returned all their RP locomotives. In 2009 Railpower declared bankruptcy due to the recession and lack of interest from Class Is for switchers. Today Railpower is a subsidiary of RJ Corman, though the hybrid loco design has been shelved for now. Picture taken at SRY shops in 2010.

I always liked the look of these locomotives, but CN and CP really have not caught onto hybrid/genset locomotives. Mixed blessing for me because I love the GP9Us and GP9RMs. Currently CP is having several of their GP9 and SD40-2 fleet rebuilt into GMD's ECO brand.
