I found a semiphore in Morris of all places just off highway 23 and here's some other photos of the elevator and a snowplow.

Yep pretty cool semaphores. There should also be another one on the CP line just west of the wooden Paterson elevator.

These must be among the last ones remaining other than in museums etc.

Neat photos.

What is a semaphores? You say there are only 2 not on museums?

Where was this one located, near Morris I assume?

I guess I better photograph it to then

The semaphore I photographed is right by the big green Carghill concrete grain elevator kinda behind somebody's house on highway 23 just before you reach the western part of the ring dike.

It's almost like looking back in time in a Greg McDonnell book. Now all we need is a high nose GP-9 beside it. lol

Saskatchewan Semaphores?

Carlyle had a pair last time I was there where the CN crossed the CP but the CP is now ripped out I think.  There were also some at Frobisher years ago, where the CN's long unused Northgate sub crossed the CPR, but I'm not sure if they are still there.

Far from the prairies, there is a semaphore guarding the crossing of the SRY and CP line in Clayburn, just outside of Mission BC. I had no idea Morris still had some though!

Thanks. I'll be in that area in July I will check. I am sure the tore out the tracks last year, so they are probably long gone.

Tracks from Redvers heading west have been gone for years.

I have been told that:

The signals at Caryle are gone on the CP side of the diamond but the signals
are still in place on the CN and they are the more modern styles. However if you go
60 miles more south down the Lampman Sub at Bienfait SK, there still semaphores in use.

Very Cool!!!! I have never seen one of those except the ones on the older CN and CP stations, most which are now part of museums!
